UPDATE: Cobb Police Assist in Vehicle Pursuit Which Ended in Douglasville
The suspect was finally stopped by the Georgia State Patrol, according to Powder Springs Police.

UPDATE (2:30 p.m.): Powder Springs police have released additional information on the incident which led to a vehicle pursuit that eventually ended in Douglasville.
According to Interim Police Chief John Robison, Powder Springs officers were dispatched to a business on Hill Road after an employee there called police in reference to one of his coworkers. The employee said the coworker was acting unruly and “may have been on something,” Robison said.
When officers arrived at the business, they found the suspect inside his red and white pickup truck, unwilling to interact with police through his rolled up windows. Eventually, the suspect slipped officers his driver’s license through a slightly opened window. While officers were investigating the license, the suspect took off.

Fearing for their lives, officers opened fire on the truck, Robison said. The suspect was not harmed, but the truck was damaged by bullets. Officers began a vehicle pursuit down C.H. James Parkway, and Cobb County police soon joined to support Powder Springs units.
Powder Springs and Cobb police eventually dropped out of the chase to allow Georgia State Patrol troopers to take over once the suspect turned off of C.H. James Parkway and on to Bankhead Highway. Troopers were able to end the chase on Bankhead Highway near its intersection with Highway 92 in Douglasville, Robison said.
