Cobb County police are searching for a man they believe had inappropriate contact with a young girl walking to school in Austell on Wednesday morning.

According to department spokesman Dana Pierce, the girl was walking on Landmark Way near Keith Avenue at approximately 7:30 a.m. when a small gold SUV or hatchback stopped near her. The driver of the vehicle rolled down the window, and told the girl to “come here.” The girl refused and ran home, but was able to see the vehicle drive off down Landmark Way in a northeasterly direction, Pierce said.

Pierce said that the girl described the driver of the vehicle as a black male approximately 30 years old, with a medium complexion and skinny build. He was clean shaven and had a short afro. His eyes were small bloodshot.

The girl described the car as a gold four-door SUV or hatchback with a white stripe near the bottom which ran along all four sides of the vehicle, Pierce said. The girl did not report seeing any window tint or body damage, but did notice a license plate.
