🌱 Cobb School Board Tax Millage Rate Hearings + East Cobb Open Houses

First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:

  1. Earlier this month, the Cobb Board of Education adopted a fiscal year 2023 budget of $1.4 billion without a millage rate increase. Next week, the school board will have the first of three required public hearings on the millage rate. The school district is taking in $65 million more in local property tax revenues than it did in 2021. (East Cobb News)
  2. On Jun. 25, the Habitat for Humanity of NW Metro Atlanta and the Cobb Interfaith Habitat Coalition began construction on their annual house. This year marks the 22 annual home that has been built by the coalition, which includes 14 religious organizations and four corporate members this year. (Yahoo News)

  • The Cobb County Public Library announced the Georgia Room's upcoming presentation of "The History of the Jekyll Island Club."
