Cobb Schools Winter Weather Alert

COBB COUNTY, GA – Due to possible overnight ice, the Cobb County School District has canceled all school-related activities prior to noon on Friday.

All activities scheduled for after 12 p.m. will occur as planned. Staff should not report prior to noon.

The Marietta City District will delay its athletic activities and holiday and enrichment camp at Marietta Center for Advanced Academics until 10 a.m. on Friday. All staff are asked to report after 10 a.m. as well.

Black ice is possible Thursday night and into Friday morning in north Georgia, according to the National Weather Service. It issued a hazardous weather outlook regarding the black ice. A winter weather advisory is also in effect through 1 a.m. Friday morning for the mountains of northeast and north central Georgia.
