Cobb County has used federal CARES funding and partnered with other organizations to help people who have been negatively impacted by the COVID19 pandemic. This includes apartment renters, those renting single-family homes, condos, attached homes AND those who are homeowners behind in mortgage payments. Details on THREE programs are below.

EVICTION / RENTAL ASSISTANCE
Cobb County has partnered with Star-C to help people impacted by COVID19 avoid evictions in affordable/workforce apartment communities. Visit www.star-c.org/eviction-relief for more information or call 404-698-3781.

RENTAL ASSISTANCE II
In an effort to aid renters adversely affected by COVID-19, qualified renters who currently reside in single-family homes, condos, attached homes, and apartments in Cobb County can now apply for up $4,800 to help pay their rent.

The funding comes from the $132 million allocated to the county in the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and will be administered by HomeFree-USA, a certified HUD-approved non-profit in housing.

Cobb Commissioners approved more than $5 million in CARES assistance to help homeowner's facing foreclosure due to COVID19 circumstances.

SENIOR ASSISTANCE
If you are 55 years or older and have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 shutdowns, furloughs or layoffs, you may be eligible for limited financial assistance. You must have an appointment to apply for assistance. Call Cobb Senior Services at 770-528-5364 to schedule an appointment call. No walk-ins accepted.

Cobb County has used CARES funding and partnered with Select Cobb to provide grants to small businesses and non-profit organizations impacted by the pandemic. The small business grant program has closed, but the not-for-profit application process continues. Visit selectcobb.com for more information on this program.
