An Atlanta man will be spending more than a decade in prison after pleading guilty to a series of car break-ins in East Cobb, the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
Maloy Bernard Brooks, 50, pleaded guilty on Monday to stealing items out of a vehicle on Kellerman Kreek and received a five year sentence. The sentence will run concurrently with a 15-year sentence Brooks received after pleading guilty to stealing items out of vehicles in Beau Reve Park. Brooks has six prior felony convictions, the DA’s Office said.

Two of Brooks’ codefendants have also entered guilty pleas for various related offenses and will be sentenced later this month, the DA’s Office said.
“This defendant is a parasite feeding on the honest work of others for his living,” said ADA Greg Epstein, who prosecuted the cases.
Georgia Department of Corrections records show that Brooks has been incarcerated at the Colquitt County Correctional Institution in Moultrie since Feb. 27, 2014 and could remain behind bars until 2029.
