The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in East Cobb.

Good morning, hello! I'm back with your new edition of the East Cobb Daily. Here's everything you need to know about what's happening in town...

First, today's weather:

Mostly cloudy. High: 77 Low: 57.

Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:

  1. Shortly after the East Cobb referendum defeat, the Committee for East Cobb Cityhood took down its Facebook and YouTube pages and left only a single story and a link to Tuesday's results on its website. The cityhood referendum was defeated by a landslide, with 73 percent of voters rejecting the creation of a City of East Cobb. East Cobb Cityhood group spokeswoman Cindy Cooperman told East Cobb News that the group had worked hard for the citizens' right to vote for a city and that the community had their voices heard. (East Cobb News)
  2. All three East Cobb Republican incumbents won their primary challenges on Tuesday. Commissioner JoAnn Birrell and legislators Kay Kirkpatrick and Sharon Cooper won their respective races with more than three-quarters of the vote. (East Cobb News)
  3. Damaging storms with strong to severe winds, lightning, and heavy rain are expected for East Cobb today before giving way to a beautiful Memorial Day weekend. Highs in the upper 70s and 80s are predicted for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. According to AAA, over 39 million Americans will be traveling more than 50 miles from home this weekend. (Patch)
