Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:

  1. An East Cobb man has been sentenced to five years in prison after killing an elderly man in a car accident in 2020. John James Hamm, 45-years-old, pleaded guilty to a charge of vehicular homicide on Monday in Cobb Superior Court. Judge Lark Ingram handed down Hamm's prison sentence along with the 10 years of probation after his prison sentence. (East Cobb News)
  2. Western storms should impact Cobb County on Friday. The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for the county. Thunderstorms and precipitation are predicted. Residents should practice extreme caution when the storm hits. (Cobb County Courier)
  3. Mitch Kaye will be representing East Cobb residents in the Georgia General Assembly. Kaye won the runoff special election Tuesday to carry out the remainder of Rep. Dollar's term. Kaye won each of the 12 precincts that the district covers. (East Cobb News)
