🌱 Mt. Bethel's New Athletic Complex + Heat Advisory For Cobb County

First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:

  1. A groundbreaking ceremony for Mt. Bethel Christian Academy's new athletic complex will take place at the Upper School campus on Wednesday, Jun. 29 at 7:00 p.m., and the public is invited. The new facility includes turf football, soccer and lacrosse activities, a field house, spectator seating, plus a parking expansion and other campus improvements. The Academy stated that the new facility "is the start of what we trust will be a period of tremendous growth and energy that will dramatically impact every division of the school." (East Cobb News)
  2. The National Weather Service extended its heat advisories for Cobb County, metro Atlanta, and most of North Georgia. Temperatures are expected to remain in the 90s with humidity levels near 60 percent today, Jun. 16, and Friday. Little relief is predicted for next week with temperatures possibly reaching up to 100. (East Cobb News)
  3. A man and woman were shot during an altercation on a MARTA train near Peachtree Center Station early Wednesday morning. The altercation escalated to gunfire resulting in both people being wounded. The gunman fled the scene and both victims survived. (CBS 46 News)
