🌱 East Cobb High Schools Ranked In The Top 40% + Sinkhole Discovery

Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:

A sinkhole was discovered on Sandy Plains Road during a routine resurfacing on Tuesday. The discovery forced crews to close a northbound lane at Wood Creek Drive. Repairs were made overnight while closures remained in place. (East Cobb News)
U.S. News and World Report ranked all six East Cobb high schools among the top 40 percent in the nation in its annual Best High Schools report. Walton High School, Lassiter High School, Wheeler High School, Kell High School, Pope High School and Sprayberry High School were named in the ranking. The Cobb County School District stated that 13 of its high schools are in the top 40 percent of more than 18,000 schools across the country. (East Cobb News)
County Commissioners approved moving the Cobb County Fire Station 20 to a new location. Data derived from a study determined that a new location would improve response to calls. The county will pay almost $1M for the new property located at the intersection of East Piedmont and Sewell Mill Roads, currently owned by the metro Atlanta chapter of the YMCA. (Yahoo News)
