East Cobb Home Burglarized, Almost $75,000 of Jewelry Stolen
Police do not yet have a suspect in the late January burglary.

Cobb County police are investigating a burglary at an East Cobb home which saw nearly $75,000 of jewelry and other items stolen.
According to a police report, officers responded to a home in the 4000 block of River Ridge Chase on Jan. 27 in response to a burglary call. The homeowner told police that he had returned home to discover that his front door had been kicked in and his property was stolen. Among the items listed as stolen in the police report include a $20,000 pocket watch, a Rolex Watch, a three carat diamond ring, diamond black onyx tuxedo studs, and other jewelry and electronics adding up to $74,075.
Sources in the neighborhood tell Patch that a crew of burglars have been striking empty homes in a nearby subdivision by finding unlocked doors and entering homes. The sources say that one witness saw a Toyota truck pick the men up after a job and called the police. She may have written down the license plate of the vehicle as well, sources say.
