East Cobb Man Convicted of Rape, Molestation, Involving Teen Girls
Robert Whipkey will receive a life sentence next week.

A Cobb County jury has convicted an East Cobb man for sexually assaulting two teenage girls who were at a house party in October of last year, the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office said.
Robert Whipkey, 52, was convicted of rape, statutory rape, aggravated sexual battery, and two counts of aggravated child molestation on Friday afternoon. He will face a sentencing hearing on Dec. 1, where he is expected to receive a life sentence.
On Oct. 8, 2013, Ripkey took two 14-year-old girls to the store to buy items for a house party they were attending. Instead of returning them to the party, Ripkey took the pair to his home, where he sexually assaulted them both. That morning, Ripkey was caught on an audio recording admitting to his son that he had sexually assaulted the girls.
