According to the Marietta Daily Journal, 64 percent of some 300 respondents in the Terrell Mill Community Association’s survey like the school’s proximity to Wheeler High School and the current traffic patterns caused by the school and want new buildings to replace the old facility.

Over 70 percent of survey respondents do not have children in the school system, a figure pointed out by critics of the association’s fight to keep the school where it is.

The Cobb Board of Education currently has different plans than the community association; claiming that it would be impossible to rebuild the school while using it, the board has considered rebuilding the middle school on the land tapped for the new Brumby Elementary School, the MDJ says. There is enough open land at the site on Terrell Mill Road near Delk Road that both campuses could fit.
