East Cobb Restaurant Which Failed October Health Inspection Scores 87 on Follow-Up

Nicky's Diner scored a 52 during a late October health inspection from Cobb and Douglas Public Health but corrected many of the violations.

An East Cobb restaurant had some work to do after health inspectors failed the establishment for several unsafe practices which could have led to foodborne illnesses.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Nicky’s Diner, at 4751 Sandy Plains Rd., received a score of 52 during a recent inspection. Records on file with Cobb and Douglas Public Health indicate that the inspection was conducted on Oct. 30. The AJC said that some of the violations the inspector noted included not holding hot food at the proper temperature, leaving raw meat above ready to eat food, open bags of gravy and rice, and a can of insecticide stored among food items.

Cobb and Douglas Public Health inspectors returned to Nicky’s on Nov. 7 and had much better news to report. This time around, the diner received a score of 87, losing points for not keeping cold food at the proper temperature, improper use or storage of wiping cloths, and a failure to properly clean or sanitize some contact surfaces.
