East Cobb Water Main Replacement on Track for Fall Launch

The project will take approximately two years to complete, officials say.

East Cobb motorists will soon have to endure traffic delays caused by a lengthy water main replacement project which could take two years to complete.

According to the Marietta Daily Journal, crews are slated to begin replacing the 50-year-old pipe this fall, and will replace some six miles of the pipe before this $40 million portion of the project is complete. The pipe being replaced runs from near the Indian Hills Country Club, down Lower Roswell and Terrell Mill Roads, and to the intersection of Terrell Mill Road and Cobb Parkway, the MDJ says.

Eventually, a new pipe will run all the way to the Cobb-Paudling county border, but planners haven’t worked out the costs or logistics of the complete extension, according to the MDJ.
