East Cobb Week in Review, March 28-April 3

Rounding up the top headlines of the week.

1. -- The entire seven-member Cobb Board of Education was called to testify before a Cobb grand jury in the wake of several contentious issues, notably the lingering controversy over the school calendar.

2. -- The Wheeler girls and the Pope boys claimed their first team titles in the Cobb County track and field championships on Monday.

3. -- East Cobb commissioner Bob Ott reiterated his opposition to a tax increase and discussed other options for reducing Cobb's estimated $31 million budget deficit.

5. -- Cobb school board chairwoman Alison Bartlett was recovering after suffering a heart attack Wednesday. She did not attend Friday's Cobb grand jury deliberations.
