Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is celebrating kids and nature for Junior Ranger Day, an annual event held at National Park across the country. This year's theme is "Nature Rocks!" Activities include meeting Captain Planet, dressing up like environmental workers, seeing a display of endangered animals, learning about wildland fire, building games and other useful things with their own hands, and meeting people who work in nature conservation/preservation. Free goodie bags are available and, at the end of the fun, kids become Junior Rangers and get limited edition badges and certificates.
The event is free and open to the public, no registration is required.
