“The Lockheed Plant” book uses more than 200 photographs, many of them unseen for a half century, to tell the story of the massive Lockheed Martin aircraft plant in Marietta. It’s a follow-up to Kirby’s earlier book, “The Bell Bomber Plant,” which told the story of that plant’s construction and operation during World War II, during which 668 B-29 Superfortress bombers identical to those that dropped the A-Bombs on Japan were assembled in Marietta.
Author, Joe Kirby, is the editorial page editor for the Marietta Daily Journal. Before the presentation, breakfast will be served. Joe will hold a book signing after the presentation. His books will be available for $22 each. (cash or checks only please)
This is a FREE event sponsored by the Temple Kol Emeth Brotherhood.
