Rachel Marie Gann AKA Ledbetter arrested days after light sentence for Exploitation of Georgia's Official Great Great Granny
Judge is Lenient but Exploiter of the Elderly Violates Probation ...Could be Resentenced to 200 Years in Prison and $550,000.00 Fine
Career criminal offender, and all around general thief & danger to society, Rachel Marie Gann was arrested on September 25, 2015 just days after being released on First Offender Probation for Felony Methamphetamine Possession and 9, yes NINE, felony counts of Exploitation of the Elderly in a case related to the State of Georgia’s Official Great Great Granny. Charges include two counts of Probation Violation (When Probation Terms are Altered, OCGA 42-8-38). Gann, well known in the community for living the lifestyle of a ”Gypsy Thief”, is described as having the following physical characteristics: a white female, 46 years of age, 5’ 7” tall, weighing 190 lbs., with brown hair and eyes. Not surprisingly, she has a long list of aliases including Rachel Marie Harris, Rachel Ledbetter, Rachel Harris, Marie Ledbetter, and Rachel Wilson.
It is important to note, as was thoroughly explained at her original sentencing in Cobb County Superior Court September 3rd, 2015, violation of her First Offender status could result in the presiding judge resentencing Gann to as much as 200 years in prison and/or up to a $550,000.00 fine. Considering one can count on her, or his, fingers the number of days it took for this miscreant to violate terms of probation once out of custody one might also logically argue Offender Gann did not take the judge seriously at the original sentencing hearing.
Prior to this latest arrest Gann was released from the Cobb County Adult Detention Center after being sentenced under Georgia’s First Offender Law. Subsequently, at that time Offender Gann was transferred to the City of Smyrna Jail where she was held on Failure to Appear charges in an unrelated case. Amazingly, City of Smyrna Court Administration, upon being contacted, vehemently discouraged the public’s attendance at the city courthouse for Gann’s sentencing on that charge.

Thankfully, after Gann’s release from the City of Smyrna Jail the staff of the newly formed Georgia Department of Community Supervision assigned to supervise Gann were quick to respond to allegations Gann was observed frequenting among other things, Murph’s Lounge ...a Smyrna dive bar well known by local law enforcement as a hub for numerous nefarious activities, as well as being the site of a murder scene in 2012.
A Probation Revocation Hearing was Scheduled in Cobb County Superior Court Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 2:30PM; at that time the case was remanded to the original court of Judge Robert Leonard for further disposition and possible resentencing 9AM on November 12, 2015. At this hearing, after spending 48 days in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, the Judge revoked Gann’s First Offender status and re-designated her as a Convicted Felon in both the Methamphetamine and Exploitation of the Elderly cases. She was released from custody and ordered to complete the remainder of her 5 year felony sentence on probation ...one might argue this is not the last time the court will see convicted felon Ga.
