UPDATE: Marietta Woman Hit by Car in Florida Dies
Nicole Donnelly was hit by a car on Saturday night in St. Petersburg while she tried to hail a taxi.

UPDATE (5:15 p.m.): WFTS in St. Petersburg, FL, has confirmed that Nicole Donnelly of Marietta was pronounced dead at 10:30 a.m. Monday after being hit by a car while on vacation Saturday evening.
Donnelly’s family said two brain scans on the 24-year-old had revealed no activity, and that her body was being taken to a hospital in Tampa where her organs will be donated.

Charges against the owner of the 2006 BMW which hit Donnelly have not been filed, pending discovery of the identity of the driver on Saturday evening, WFTS says.

According to WFTS, Nicole Donnelly and her fiance were visiting Donnelly’s brother in Florda and were attempting to flag down a taxi in the 300 block of Pasadena Avenue in St. Petersburg at approximately 11 p.m. Saturday when she was hit by a BMW.
Donnelly has been receiving treatment at Bayfront Hospital, but her family told WFTS that a recent brain scan detected no activity. A second scan will be performed on Tuesday, WFTS says.
WFTS says that the owner of the BMW, which did not stop after hitting Donnelly, has been identified. Police have not arrested the owner yet, as they work to determine if he or is wife was the person behind the wheel at the time of the hit-and-run.
