🌱 I-75 Is Economic Engine Of Cobb County + Summer Program Feeds Kids

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in East Cobb.

Hi all. It's me, Carla Varner, your host of the Daily. Here's all the community news you need to know right now.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and humid. High: 87 Low: 67.

Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:

  1. The largest single concentration of jobs within Cobb County is the Cumberland area along I-75 near the eastern border of the county. Other job centers continue up I-75 past Marietta and into the Kennesaw area. Kennesaw State University, Town Center, and commercial properties between Barrett Parkway on the south and McCollum Parkway on the north are job concentrated. (Cobb County Courier)
  2. Mt. Bethel Church in East Cobb will be feeding children in need during the summer months through the church's MUST Ministries. The goal of the ministry is to feed breakfast and lunch to at least 6,000 children for nine weeks and to distribute an estimated 540,000 meals in six counties. The church is collecting food items and accepting financial donations. (East Cobb News)
  3. Cobb County resident and owner of the non-profit Community Incident Response Foundation Mike O'Brien recently returned from the scene of the deadly mass shooting in Buffalo. After learning about the incident, O'Brien drove his food truck to the area, hooked up with a local organization, and began cooking for thousands of people impacted. "There were hundreds of people in the streets, praying and crying in front of memorials, people hugging each other," said O'Brien. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
