Jewish Film Fest Comes to East Cobb
Thursday's shows at GTC Merchants Walk Cinema are sold out, with a waiting list line opening at 5:50 p.m.
The 12th annual Atlanta Jewish Film Festival is proving to be a very hot ticket in East Cobb.
The festival's Twitter account indicated Thursday morning that tonight's showtimes at the have all sold out, with a waiting list line starting at 5:50 p.m.
The films to be shown tonight are "The Flood," about a troubled Israeli boy and his dysfunctional family struggling amidst crisis, at 6:50 p.m.; and "This is Sodom," a biblical farce, at 9:15 p.m.

The 22-day festival, a service of the Atlanta Chapter of the American Jewish Committee, on Feb. 10 and will feature 70 films to be shown in 117 screenings.
According to co-chair Kirk Dornbush, the AJFF is the largest film festival in Georgia and the second-largest Jewish film festival in the country. “Film is such a great way of building understanding in diverse communities. That’s part of what we do at the film festival,” he told the Reporter newspapers.

The Merchants Walk Cinema portion of the festival, with other venues in Atlanta, Sandy Springs and Alpharetta, takes place this weekend.
Tickets are available for the remainder of the Merchants Walk program. On Friday, the films to be shown are "Nicky's Family" at 11:50 a.m. and "Free Men" at 2:40 p.m.
Saturday's only film will be "Restoration" at 8 p.m. The guest speaker for the evening will be Opher Avira, Israeli Consul General to the Southeast.
On Sunday short films will begin at 11 a.m., followed by full-length features "The Fifth Heaven" at 1 p.m., "My Dad Baryshnikov" at 3:55 p.m. and "David" at 8 p.m.
