🌱 Jones To Compete In American Ninja + Church Finalizes Settlement

Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:

  1. East Cobb area students can apply for Mt. Zion United Methodist Church's diversity scholarship. The Life Skills Outreach Ministry will award five $1,000 scholarships for the 2022-2023 school year. These scholarships are merit-based, need-based scholarships for historically marginalized populations continuing education at a college or technical school. (Yahoo News)
  2. East Cobb's Christopher Jones will compete in NBC's American Ninja. The 18-year-old graduate of Pope High School has a condition called sensory processing disorder that makes it more difficult for him to interact with the world, especially when it comes to coordination and spatial awareness. When Jones was young, the sport was a game-changer for him, and he was able to overcome his challenges. (Yahoo News)
  3. Mt. Bethel Church finalized a legal settlement with the denomination's North Georgia Conference allowing the church to keep its property and assets at its two East Cobb campuses. In exchange, Mt. Bethel will pay $13.1 million to the Conference and leave the denomination. The lead attorney for the church, Robert Ingram, said both parties came to an agreement that awaits formal signatures. (East Cobb News)
