Kiwanis Scholarships Available for East Cobb Students

Multiple scholarships are available for eligible students; begin the application process early as the deadline is approaching.

The Kiwanis Club of Marietta has announced the deadline for applications for scholarships the Club provides for students attending college or planning to attend college in Cobb County and elsewhere.

The Club is offering seven scholarships for the upcoming academic year, and will accept applications until March 15, the Club website announces. Applications for most of the seven scholarships are available to download on the Club website.

A brief description of each scholarship follows:

  • Marietta Kiwanis Foundation Founders Scholarship: Available to full-time sophomores, juniors, or seniors at Kennesaw State University who have a high GPA and a track record of community service. Apply for this scholarship at KSU’s website.
  • Fred And Drucilla Beck Scholarship: This scholarship is available to full-time students attending Southern Polytechnic State University. It is not meant to cover tuition but is provided as a special, once-yearly award. Apply for this scholarship at SPSU’s website.
  • Turner-Howard Scholarship: This $2,500 scholarship is available to any undergraduate student about to enter or currently attending KSU, SPSU, or Chattahoochee Tech who is a Cobb County or Marietta school system employee or a dependent of such a person. Decisions on scholarships are based on academics, character, and financial need.
  • Jane And Ebbie Lance Scholarship: This $2,500 scholarship is available to any high school graduate or GED holder who plans to receive a vocational/technical education at Chattahoochee Tech. Decisions on scholarships are based on academics and financial need.
  • Marietta Kiwanis Special Education Scholarship: This $2,500 scholarship is available to any teacher or student at an accredited college or university in Georgia who is pursuing a degree in special education. Decisions on scholarships are based on academics, character, and financial need.
  • E.W. Chastain Scholarship: This $2,500 scholarship is available to any Kiwanis Key Club or Circle K member who has been in the organization for a year, or who is a family member of a current Kiwanis Club of Marietta member, and who plans to attend SPSU, KSU, or Chattahoochee Tech. Decisions on scholarships are based on academics, character, and financial need.
  • Raymond Steve Tumlin Scholarship: This $2,500 scholarship is available to any undergraduate or graduate student who is a member of Kiwanis Club, a Kiwanis-affiliated youth organization, or who is the child or spouse of a current Kiwanis Club of Marietta member. Decisions on scholarships are based on academics, character, and financial need.
  • Bill “Scoop” Kinney Journalism Scholarship: This $2,500 scholarship is available to any graduate or undergraduate student pursuing a journalism major. Decisions on scholarships are based on academics and financial need.
  • Forever Remember Scholarship: This $2,500 scholarship is available to dependents of active duty military, military reserve personnel, or military or public safety veterans. Applicants must also live, work, or attend college or university in Cobb County. Decisions on scholarships are based on academics, character, financial need, and an essay.
