🌱 Man Arrested For East Cobb Home Burglaries + 25K Ballots In Cobb

Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:
- A suspect has been arrested following a wave of home burglaries in an affluent East Cobb neighborhood earlier this month. According to a Cobb Police arrest warrant, Armando Casa-Rojas, of Argentina, has been charged with first-degree burglary following a burglary at a home off Old Canton Road near Roswell Road on May 6. Cobb Sheriff's Office records show that Casa-Rojas was booked in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center and remains there without bond. (East Cobb News)
- According to Saturday's preliminary counts for early voting, over 25,000 ballots have been cast in Cobb County so far ahead of the 2022 primary elections. In-person turnout has been particularly strong at East Cobb's two early voting locations, with 2,864 votes cast at the Tim D. Lee Senior Center and 5,478 votes cast at the East Cobb Government Center — the highest of any County location. The May 24 election includes local, state, and federal races, as well as cityhood referendums in East Cobb, Lost Mountain, and Vinings. (East Cobb News)
- Federal prosecutors in Atlanta say a Cobb County man allegedly stole nearly $10 million in a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) scheme that involved lying about owning a business with nearly 500 employees. According to an indictment, Carl Torjagbo, a licensed commercial pilot, gave a residential address for the location of his supposed business and made purchases with his PPP money that included homes, vehicles, plastic surgery, and business equipment. The government is currently attempting to recover the money as Torjagbo is held in jail without bond. (11Alive.com WXIA)
