🌱 Man Arrested For Impersonating An Officer + County Approves Budget

Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:
- A man was arrested and charged for impersonating an officer and improperly using emergency lights, said Acworth Police. The man's car first caught the attention of Acworth officers, then his uniform which looked much like their own. When Police Chief Wayne Dennard saw the driver turn on red and white flashing emergency lights to make his way through traffic, he instructed one of his officers to pull him over. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
- Cobb County Commissioners approved a $1.4 billion budget Tuesday which includes millions of dollars that will increase the pay of county workers. County officials said the increased pay is needed to recruit new employees and keep current ones. Cobb County spokesman Ross Cavitt said, "We've had employees that are underpaid by about 8% market average at a time it's hard to get workers at all." (Fox 5 Atlanta)
- Richard Tischler was appointed as principal of Walton High School by the Cobb Board of Education on Thursday. Tischler was an assistant principal at Walton High School for the last seven years. He succeeds Dr. Catherine Mallanda and begins his new position today. (East Cobb News)
