🌱 Man Arrested For Subway Shooting + 3 Annexations On Cobb BOC Agenda

Hello, neighbors. I'm here right on time with your Tuesday edition of the East Cobb Daily, filled with all the things you need to know about what's happening locally.


First, today's weather:

A stray afternoon t-storm. High: 82 Low: 71.


Here are the top stories today in East Cobb:

  1. A 36-year-old man was arrested late Sunday in connection with a shooting that left one Subway employee dead and another critically injured. The dispute that led to the shooting of the two women workers was over how much mayonnaise to put on a sandwich. The incident took place at the Subway store at the Circle K gas station at the intersection of Northside and Markham Street. (Dayton Daily News)
  2. The Cobb County Board of Commissioners' consent agenda for Tuesday, Jun. 28 includes three annexations into Cobb's cities, two of which are expansions into Smyrna and another in Acworth. The Acworth annexation is a small 0.7-acre parcel of land at 3520 Hickory Grove Road. The annexations in Smyrna include a 16.04 acres parcel of land known as Vinings Brooke Subdivision, and the second is a 43.12-acre tract known as Heritage Mill Subdivision. (Cobb County Courier)
  3. Aaron Tullar, the owner of Peachtree Computers, just opened his third location in East Cobb at Woodlawn Square Shopping Center. The store gives free diagnostics on devices and has remote and onsite support services, both for PCs and Macs. Peachtree Computers is located at 1205 Johnson Ferry Road, Suite 128. The hours of operation are Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (East Cobb News)
