Man Robs Drug Store, Then Speeds Away: Police

The Cobb County police are seeking tips from the public on a robber who fled Saturday morning on Interstate 285.

ATLANTA, GA — The Cobb County police are looking for a man who held up a local drug store on Saturday morning and then sped away on the Perimeter highway. The armed robbery took place at about 5:45 a.m. at the Rite Aid at 2498 Cumberland Parkway, the police said in a statement.

The robber is described by police as a black man, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hoodie and mask, and armed with a handgun.

The police said the man entered the Rite Aid and flashed his firearm to the clerk. After demanding and receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled in what was described as a dark-colored car.

A witness said the car ran the red light at Cumberland Parkway and Paces Ferry Road before getting onto eastbound Interstate 285.
