It’s generally a wise idea to keep your phone in your pocket while you’re behind the wheel, but East Cobb motorists should be extra cautious if they’re on their phones and spot a survey crew milling about at an intersection.

Those surveyors might be surveying you, not the land.

On Wednesday, Marietta police dressed up as survey crews or construction workers and observed drivers stopped at the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Roswell Road, WSB-TV reported. If anyone was seen using their cell phone, even while stopped at the light, their information was radioed ahead to uniformed police officers who pulled over the offenders.
