At its March 15, 2016 meeting, Marietta's Board of Education voted to solicit input from parents, guardians and school employees, prior to voting on the matter in April. School governance teams will finalize their recommendations by April 1, 2016.

The following guidelines were used to explore scheduling options:

  1. Establish later starting times for secondary students
  2. Not extend the current school end times to avoid conflicts with after school activities
  3. Provide certified MCS employees with additional professional/planning time by reducing the school day for students
  4. Maintain or minimally increase transportation costs.

Feedback will be received from an online survey accessible through the MCS Aspen Student Information System. Paper copies of the survey are also available in each school’s front office. The survey will be available online until Friday, March 25, 2016. Comments may be sent to each school by clicking here.
