Marietta Truck Driver Hits $1M Jackpot

One lucky Marietta man has walked away with a cool Georgia Lottery prize on a recent hot summer day. William Cheeks, an intermodal truck driver, played the instant game $10 Million Cash Spectacular, winning a $1 million prize.

On a lucky streak, Cheeks, 50, first won $1,500 playing Cash 3 Midday, then won $500 playing Jumbo Bucks Classic before cashing in on his $1 million prize.

The lucky winner called family and friends to share the good news.

With his winnings, Cheeks wants to continue to enjoy life.

“I’m going to buy a new house,” the father of three said.

Racetrac #0120, 749 S. Marietta Parkway in Marietta, sold the winning ticket.

Cheeks claimed his prize July 31 at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.
