More Polling Locations In Cobb Could Change Before November

The Cobb County Board of Elections is working on more polling location changes.

COBB COUNTY, GA — More changes to Cobb County voting precincts and polling locations could possibly change between now and November. The Board of Elections hasn’t been able to secure new polling places as quickly as they would have liked, according to election officials.

Janine Eveler, director of the Cobb County Board of Elections, spoke to the Cobb legislative delegation Monday, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The county has already divided some precincts, as well as moved polling locations from schools. The decision was made due to concerns over security and voter access, reports the AJC. At least 50,000 voters are affected.

The board is also exploring ways to shorten lines on Election Day to prevent a repeat of the 2018 hour-long wait times.
