Photo Gallery: Walton Wins Close Game at Kell

The Walton Raiders held off a late rally by the Kell Longhorns for a 7-6 win

The varsity baseball team won a close game at against the Longhorns, 7-6.

Walton got off to a quick start, with Stephen Wren hitting a two-run home run in the top of the first inning off Kell starting pitcher Jacob Brabon. The Raider lead increased to 7-3 after five innings.

Kell's Johnathan Whitmore came on in relief and held the Raiders scoreless for the final three innings, allowing the Longhorns to get back in the game by scoring three runs. But the rally fell short in the bottom of the seventh and Walton closed out the win.

Walton's Ryan Barr got the win for the Raiders, with Scott Burkholder coming in for the save. Kell's Jacob Brabon took the loss for the Longhorns.
