Police Investigate Drowning Death on Chattahoochee

ATLANTA, GA -- Cobb police are continuing to investigate a Chattahoochee River drowning on Friday that happened off of Akers Mill Road.

The victim has been identified as Aaron Asher Daniels, 18, of Duluth.

Police and emergency personnel were dispatched to the river's Sandy Point Park area after a person went missing after attempting to swim across the river.

When they arrived, they learned the young man had gone underwater after being in distress and had not resurfaced.

Around 5:45 pm, Daniels' body was found. The Cobb Crimes Against Persons department has assumed the case's investigation.
