UPDATE: Police Identify Man Shot at East Cobb Motel
A witness said officers tried to use a taser on the man multiple times, without effect; one officer was treated for injuries.

UPDATE: Cobb County police have identified the man shot by officers at an East Cobb motel room Sunday morning as 30-year old Joshua Duvall of Stockbridge. Duvall was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and treated for the injuries he sustained during the attack. He is being charged with felony obstruction, misdemeanor obstruction and terroristic threats, police said.

ORIGINAL STORY: Cobb County police are investigating the circumstances of an officer-involved shooting in East Cobb on Sunday morning.
According to WSB-TV, officers arrived at the Masters Inn on Windy Hill Road at 7:44 a.m. in response to calls about a man who may have been acting under the influence of drugs. Police told the station that two officers got in an altercation with the man inside a room and then spilled out into the hallway.

A witness told WSB-TV that he heard the officers trying to use a taser on the man approximately 15 times, but the device did not stop the man from continuing his attack on the officers. The witness said he then heard a single gunshot.
The man was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the stomach, WSB-TV said. The two officers involved, one of whom was treated for injuries at the scene, are on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation into the shooting.
