Pope Graduate Earns G-P Scholarship

Emily Gaid is the recipient of a Georgia-Pacific Foundation Employees' Children Scholarship.

graduate Emily Gaid has been named a recipient of the Georgia-Pacific Foundation Employees' Children Scholarship.

The daughter of Perry and Loretta Gaid, Emily graduated with a 4.45 grade point average and a very active soccer player, earning four consecutive varsity letters, the Coach’s Award, and recognition for Most Valuable Player. 

She was a member of the National Honor Society, The French Honor Society and The Beta Club.

In the fall, Emily plans to attend Wofford College in South Carolina, where she was awarded the Old Main Scholarship to major in biology/pre-med.

The Georgia-Pacific Foundation annually awards 50, four-year scholarships to qualifying children of its employees across the United States. Since the program’s start in 1988, G-P has awarded more than 1,250 scholarships, totaling approximately $10 million. This year, students from 17 states received scholarship awards.

Perry Gaid is a national distribution manager in Georgia-Pacific’s consumer products business.
