Pope Parents May Keep Kids Out of School Friday Following Threats

A message scrawled on several bathrooms inside the East Cobb school threatened violence on Feb. 13, reports said.

Parents of students who attend Pope High School have been on heightened alert after word was released of several threats found written on bathroom walls inside the school.

According to East Cobber Magazine, several messages proclaiming “Death to Pope HS” on Feb. 13 were found last week in different bathrooms inside the building, a discovery which immediately prompted school officials to contact the Cobb County School District Police Department.

Police worked with adminstrators to investigate the credibility of the threat, and found that there was no cause for alarm. Buses will run and classes will be taught as normal on Friday, school officials told East Cobber Magazine.
