Pope's girls and boys basketball teams won important Region 5-AAAA games on the road at Kell High School Tuesday.
The Pope Lady Greyhounds led the game from the beginning, and went on to win 37-28. Pope's Angela Davis led all scorers with 15 points. Taylor Schwan added 12 points in the win.
Kell's Naomi Stuger led the Lady Longhorns with 10 points and NeeNee Marks scored eight.

The boys game was tightly played by both teams the entire game - the largest lead at anytime in the game being only five points.
Pope's Garrett Brown, leading all scorers with 24 points, handled some clutch free-throw shooting in the final minute to give the Greyhounds the win, 60-56. Matt Polyne added 12 points for Pope.

Kell's Nick Baumann scored 15 points for the Longhorns, while Jordan Bagwell and Grant Bryant both scored 13.
