Press Release: Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods Brings Home the Gold for Sutton Park

Professionally Merchandised Model Home in the Heart of Smyrna Townhome Community Honored with an Obie Award from the GAHBA

Atlanta, November 13, 2015 – On Saturday, November 7, the Sales & Marketing Council of the Greater Atlanta Home Builder’s Association played host to its 35th Annual Obie Awards. Designed to recognize excellence in construction, design and marketing in the home building industry, the Georgia World Congress Center was filled with real estate professionals and representatives from Atlanta’s finest builders, renovating firms and marketing departments. Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods was proud to be among them. To date, Acadia Homes has been honored with 16 Obie Awards – the latest of which for its efforts in the city’s townhome market. Sutton Park in Smyrna was awarded the Gold Obie for Best Interior Merchandising – exquisitely designed by Tanaya Williams of Parlay Interiors.

As an intro to what would soon become Acadia’s signature townhome product – The Townsend Series, Sutton Park’s model home was designed with millennials and young professionals in mind. Poised near Atlanta’s prestigious Paces Ferry Road, the three-story townhome demanded a design that was believably deserving of such stature without seeming beyond the reach of a potential homebuyer. With Acadia’s Chelsea floorplan as her blank canvas, the designer carefully selected décor to reflect the sophistication of “in town living.” For color inspiration, Williams looked to the upscale gourmet kitchen and luxurious master bath in order to create a sense of a tranquil retreat for the working professional or business couple.

“The terrace level showcases the feel of a stylish parlor thanks to an intimate seating selection around a game table, set against a dark wood panel wall in the media room,” described Williams. “One can imagine that the players just left to freshen their cocktails. Just upstairs, the family and dining rooms feature modern, transitional themes and soothing color schemes. Pops of pattern and upscale art reflect the life of someone who is clearly enjoying the fruits of their labor. Full-length curtains lend a soft, yet chic touch to all of the main living spaces. On the second floor, the master bedroom is the perfect balance of masculine and feminine energy, highlighting classic yet modern décor. All of the furnishings and accessories are carefully selected to promote the grandness of the scale of the room, and are the perfect precursor to the elegant marble master bathroom.”

Backed by a solid track record of success at its City Park Townhomes, Kirkwood Green and Sutherland Corners properties in the past, Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods launched Sutton Park in the popular Smyrna-Vinings area of Atlanta in early 2015. In the months since, the builder has packaged a stylish townhome product in some of Atlanta’s most sought after neighborhoods under the new Townsend name. Townsend at Decatur and Townsend at Toco Hills are currently pre-selling, with Townsend at Chamblee and Townsend at Lenox Park coming soon. Additional Townsend communities are in the works for the Brookhaven and Perimeter areas. Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods plans to place equally engaging model homes in each of these communities.

“Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods has always placed a great emphasis on model homes in our communities throughout Metro Atlanta,” explained Terance Manly, Manager of Acadia’s Design Gallery. “They serve as an excellent tool for aiding homebuyers in envisioning themselves living within the rooms of the home, as well as the community beyond the home’s windows. Where Sutton Park was concerned, Tanaya successfully creates an urban oasis that is both a welcome escape at the end of a long workday and a stylish spot for entertaining during weekends. Through the use of cool neutrals, dark woods and reflective metallics, each space exudes a sense of glamour that is somewhat reminiscent of the heyday of Old Hollywood. The elegant, yet inviting décor commands the eye to ensure that each painstakingly selected element doesn’t go unnoticed. While the best way to experience this very special home is to tour it firsthand, the photos and video tour are also available to view on Acadia’s website and social media pages. They offer an engaging sneak peek into homes that will be available in our pre-selling and coming soon Townsend communities.”
