🌱 East Cobb Precinct Changes + Lopsided Party Ballot Questions
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in East Cobb.
Hi all. It's me, Carla Varner, your host of the Daily. Here's what you need to know about what's happening in town today.
First, today's weather:
A t-storm around in the p.m.. High: 82 Low: 61.
Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:
- The Cobb Board of Elections and Registration announced that three East Cobb precinct venues would change for the Jun. 21 primary runoff elections. Changes were made when Cobb Elections learned that some polling places would not be available on the runoff election day. The three locations are Fullers Park 1, Murdock 1, and Roswell 2. (East Cobb News)
- The Republican and Democratic questions that appeared on partisan ballots during the Georgia primary on May 24 were overwhelmingly lopsided. While state parties posed questions familiar to their voting bases, some questions touched on a number of hot-button topics like border security, education spending, absentee ballot access, and Buckhead cityhood. The ballot question that got the most one-sided response from Republican voters was transgender athletes, with 95 percent saying biological males who identify as females should not compete against girls in high school sports. - The Honorary Commanders Association is seeking nominations for members of its 2023 class. Every year the organization selects community and business leaders to pair with military personnel in a yearlong program designed to give leaders insight into military activities, their impact on the economy, and aspects of the national defense system. The association is a cooperative effort involving Cobb Chamber, Dobbins Air Reserve Base (ARB), General Lucius D. Clay National Guard Center, Georgia National Guard, Coast Guard, National Defense Force, and the Navy and Marine Corps. (Cobb County Courier)
