MARIETTA, GA — The Cobb County Police Department launched Tuesday the new Connect Cobb camera registry program in efforts to help keep the local community safe.

Through Connect Cobb, people can share the locations of their security cameras with the local police department at no additional cost. People will be contacted if a crime occurs in their neighborhood, police said.

Police said sharing a location does not grant access to a person's camera, and information will not be shared with anyone other people.
