Shallowford Falls Wins Science Olympiad
The East Cobb elementary school once again claimed the county title last weekend.

For the second year in a row, the Shallowford Falls Elementary School Science Olympiad team has placed first in the Cobb County Science Olympiad.
The competition was held last Saturday at . The 18-member team participated against 26 other Cobb County teams in events ranging from “A is for Anatomy” to “Weather or Not.”
For the past 28 years, Science Olympiad has led a revolution in science education. What began as a grassroots assembly of science teachers is now one of the premiere science competitions in the nation, providing rigorous, standards-based challenges to nearly 6200 teams in 50 states.

Science Olympiad's ever-changing event lineup provides exposure to many different aspects of the science curriculum. Science Olympiad supplements classroom learning and nurtures students’ love for science.
The Shallowford Falls Foundation sponsors the school’s team and raises funds for their science lab andlab instructor. The next step for the Science Olympiad team will be the State of Georgia competition on May 12 at Kennesaw State University.
