Should Pope's Dress Code be Dressed Down?

Some students at the East Cobb high school believe the dress code is unfairly targeting female students.

Some students at Pope High School are seeking a redress of grievances regarding the Greyhound dress code, which they feel is singling out female students.

FOX 5 Atlanta reports that the East Cobb school has outlawed the wearing of items such as crop tops, leggings, and jeggings. Students’ hemlines and necklines are also monitored under the code. None of the forbidden items would normally be worn by male students, and some female students are not happy with the perceived unfair treatment.

Although school officials claim the dress code is meant to encourage students to dress professionally in anticipation of their future careers, a junior at Pope has begun a petition to re-evaluate the dress code so it includes stipulations that apply to male students.
