Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:

  1. Lisa Cupid, the Chairwoman of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, is delivering a State of the County address at the Chamber's Marquee Monday event today (Jun. 13). This presentation will be focused on things of interest to the business community in Cobb County, including how Cobb continues to provide outstanding customer service despite pandemic-related challenges and maintain fiscal stability, all while addressing community concerns and supporting local businesses. According to a press release, Chairwoman Cupid will also discuss the County's biggest successes and milestones from 2021, as well as its goals for 2022. (Cobb County Courier)
  2. Beginning tomorrow (Jun. 14) through the majority of the summer, lanes along a portion of East Piedmont Road will be closed overnight for repaving work. On Sundays through Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., East Piedmont Road between Allgood Road and Sandy Plains Road will be closed except for one lane. The project has an expected completion date of August 2022. (East Cobb News)
  3. On Wednesday, Jun. 15, at 10:00 a.m., the Cobb County Public Library System Bookmobile will be at East Cobb Park. There will be a storytime event as well as materials for check-out and a mobile hotspot for community use. Attendees must present their library cards to check out items from the Bookmobile or apply for a library card on-site. (East Cobb News)
