Stepping Back Into Parisian Cabaret Life
Atlanta's High Museum to celebrate Toulouse-Lautrec exhibit with special party.

When painter Henri Toulouse-Lautrec unveiled his portraits of patrons, dancers and devotees of Montmartre's vibrant nightlife in the late 1800s, it caused quite a sensation. But the renderings by the denizen of decadent bars, cafes and brothels also revealed a slice of Paris also became highly popular for their celebration of a life of pleasure.
The High Museum of Art's exhibit, "Toulouse-Lautrec and Friends," opened in January, but next Saturday, March 26, the museum will hold a special celebration of the exhibit from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. The event also will highlight another ongoing exhibit, "Henri-Cartier Bresson: The Modern Century," a collection of the some of the accomplished French's photographer's best work.

The Culture Shock event will include performances from The Coathangers, Holopaw, DJ Zano, burlesque dancers and special exhibition tours.
