Two Cobb Schools Locked Down Monday After Nearby Armed Robbery
East Cobb Middle and Wheeler High were locked down while police searched for a suspect.

COBB COUNTY, GA — East Cobb Middle and Wheeler High schools were locked down Monday while police searched for an armed robbery suspect who crashed his getaway car near the schools.
Police arrested one suspect who was in the car after the crash, according to Cobb County police.
Police said two men entered Simply Mac, an Apple sales and repair store in The Avenue on Roswell Road, and robbed the retailer on Monday morning.

The suspects fled the scene in a white pickup and then crashed elsewhere on Roswell Road. The other suspect fled toward Azalea Springs apartments, about half a mile away from the two schools. "Out of an overabundance of caution, we held the students in their classrooms for a short period of time," said Cobb schools spokesperson Donna Lowry. "The all-clear came at about 12:05 pm."
The suspect who was arrested was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

The suspect who is at large is described as skinny with short curly hair and was last seen wearing a grey hoodie and black pants.
