What's Happening to the CRCT?

There are four letters that have plagued the classrooms of public school students and has caused national concern as it pertains to accountability in education. These four letters are CRCT and they stand for the Criterion Referenced Competency Test.

This test is administered in the spring of each school year and is given to students in 3rd-8th grade. The result of these tests allows the state to rate students, teachers, and schools according to how each group performs.

Beginning in 2015, the Georgia Department of Education will create a new series of tests to administer to students. This new test, the Georgia Measures of Achievement and Progress or the GMAP will be more rigorous and will also give way to students demonstrating their writing skills.

As an insider in the field of education, these new tests definitely bring a new set of opportunities and challenges to students and schools alike. If you would like more information about the new GMAP test or have questions about how we can guide your student to the patch to success, please contact Christine at 404-964-8533 or you can email me at christine@learningridge.com.
