According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the woman was trying to get across the ramp from Interstate 75 south to the Canton Road Connector overnight Tuesday to reach her disabled vehicle, which was parked on the shoulder. As she was crossing the roadway, she was hit by a 2001 Ford Focus.
11 Alive News identifies the injured pedestrian as Jessica Rountree, citing Marietta police spokesman Nick Serkedakis. The station’s report conflicts slightly with the AJC account, claiming Rountree was exiting her vehicle at the time she was struck instead of returning to it as the AJC says.
