• Alleged thief arrested after being caught in the act (wgtjradio.com) — A Gainesville man was arrested after deputies say he was caught removing lawn equipment from a trailer at a West Side Drive home and then pointed a handgun during a fight with the resident. He now faces aggravated assault and theft-by-taking charges, with bond set at $14,700 in the Hall County Jail.
   

• 'It hurts so bad': Local family has painful memory of loved one killed in Pentagon (wsbtv.com) — A Gainesville-connected family is marking another September 11 by honoring Edna Lee Stephens, a Pentagon budget analyst killed in the attacks, through prayer and remembrance. Relatives in Gainesville recall watching the tragedy unfold on TV, while former Gov. Nathan Deal, who lived in Gainesville for decades, joined a church service commemorating her life and the 183 others lost.
   

• Driver charged with DUI after rollover crash on GA 105 (nowgeorgia.com) — Two people injured in a rollover crash on GA 105 were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with non-life-threatening injuries after a Toyota 4Runner left the road and overturned. The Tuesday evening wreck near Hilton English Road briefly blocked one lane while Habersham County crews responded and state troopers charged the Cornelia driver with DUI and failure to maintain lane.
