The start of summer is one of the slowest times of the year for our dog adoptions. As a no-kill shelter, when we are full we can no longer help dogs in need.
Few adoptions = Little/no cage space = Less lives saved
To encourage adoptions right now, Furkids is waiving adoption fees until May 31st for dogs weighing 40 lbs. or more. These dogs are often overlooked, but they have many wonderful qualities that a young puppy does not. Many of our larger dogs are crate or potty trained already! They are less likely to chew and already walk well on a leash. Browse and apply to adopt at www.furkids.org.
